*Jonzun Crew - Lost in Space*

Spectacular funky hip-hop from the 80's. The group was led by Michael Jonzun and his brothers Maurice Starr, Sonny and Carl. The group was highly influenced by Afrika Bambaatta, they wore wigs like Mozart and dominated the electroboogie sound like bands such as Parliament.  All the tracks are great and unique. Wonderful band that has yet to find its real listeners. The green solid reissue is gorgeous.  Interesting for fans of Daft Punk.

*Todd Rundgren - Good Vibrations / Love of the common man*

45'' released in Portugal in 1976 by Fábrica Portuguesa da Rádio Triunfo that contains two songs, one which is a cover and the other an original. Todd Rundgren manages to create a very close to the original cover of Good Vibrations, so the original song Love of the common man is a much more interesting soft rock ballad that is both catchy and heartfelt.

*Janis Ian - Insanity Comes Quietly to the Structured Mind / Sunflakes Fall, Snowrays Call*

Two  evocative and introspective songs by singer-songwriter Janis Ian. Born in 1951 in Nashville (USA) Janis Ian musical career spanned over 40 years filled with albums rich in wordplay, introspective and bittersweet lyrics, as well as a rather unique way of seeing and experiencing the world around her.  The songs have pretty arrangements and dote upon melody, a fragancy of folk pop and baroque enrich and elevate the songwriting and the lyrics are enigmatic and bittersweet.

*Amii Stewart - Paradise Bird*

Stylish and catchy disco with funk and soul influences that evidently rocked the dancefloors in the late 70's. Amii Stewart's voice can be either smooth and delicate like in the unconventional soul ballad Paradise Bird or fiery and strong like in He's a burglar, a really cool track filled with bouncy vibes.

*Webcore - Webcore*

Unconventional and intriguing psych rock from the UK. Released in 1987, this LP features a very unique style of psych rock with some goth and space rock tinges, but the experimental vein is present all the way. Unorthodox vocals and some repetitive riffs as well as an eerie atmosphere, provide the songs a charismatic appeal.  Webcore formed in 1984 and ended a few years later, releasing 2 lp's through Jungle Records and several self-released cassettes. There is not much information online about this band safe for an interview with the band's keyboardist, Paul Chousmer, that explains some of his music projects before and after Webcore. Influences vary a lot but some of the more flagrant and cited are Psychic TV, Siouxsie and the banshees, and Eno.  Here's the interview with Paul Chousmer https://killyourpetpuppy.co.uk/news/webcore-the-great-unfolding-a-real-kavoom-cassette-1986/

*I was a teenage zombie - OST*

Interesting compilation for the 1987 film "I was a teenage zombie". It features songs from Violent Femmes, Los Lobos, The Smithereens, Alex Chilton and many more. A really good slice of 80's alt. rock and indie and it captures the feeling of the movie which has become a cult movie of sorts.
