*Arthur Russell - Another thought*

Arthur Russell passed away in 1992 leaving behind a considerable amount of unreleased records. Another Thought is the first collection of works released after the musician's death. Delicate, introspective and innovative, this collection of songs proves the sophisticated pop sensibility of the musician. A wonderful album.

*Orville Peck - Pony*

Enchanting debut album by Orville Peck who with his unique voice creates a beautiful set of alternative country songs that speak about heartache, redemption and revenge. The genres are mixed freely and with ease, shoegaze, surf rock and indie rock coalesce into a unique blend of country.   A true classic for our ages. Queer country.  https://youtu.be/0VlPFpE5fvo

*Trouble - Psalm 9*

Incredible debut album by Trouble released in 1984. A manic mix of doom and thrash that remains fresh and not dated at all. As influential as Black Sabbath, the band creates a unique atmosphere that revels in legendary riffs and very distinctive vocals. Completely original and still sounding way relevant, this debut is an incredible set of heavy songs.     https://youtu.be/q-rhMGxDa6c   <FULL ALBUM>

*Max Richter - Three Worlds - Music from Woolf works"

How much tenderness can the world hold and be such a melancholic place at the same time? Somber, beautiful, delicate and nostalgic. The music remains visionary, it evokes distant memories and creates new ones. Max Richter manages to compose instrumental classical pieces that are perfect soundtracks for daydreaming and sonic escapism. These pieces were composed for a ballet inspired by Virginia Woolf's 3 novels, Mrs.Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves.  https://www.maxrichtermusic.com/albums/three-worlds-music-from-woolf-works/ "The beauty of the world, which is so soon to perish, has two edges, one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder." *Japan - Tin Drum*

The fifth and final studio album by Japan released in 1981 and it's a set of songs that are sophisticated and original. It mixes electronic sounds with more traditional instrumentation with very strong influences from far eastern sounds.  It remains as fresh as when it was released and deeply inspiring and influential. Roland Orzabal (Tears for Fears) has stated his deep appreciation for the album and considers it to be one of the key influences for Tear For Fear's album The Hurting.    https://youtu.be/wapHTm2GtWg     <Full Album>

*Imaginary soundtracks for books #4 : Under the volcano by Malcolm Lowry (1947)*

A poweful set of vignettes that portray the human condition in its misery and recklessness. A tragic story that defines broken and failed relationships set in the beautiful yet lonesome landscapes of Oaxaca (Mexico). There is violence amid beautiful almost divine moments and hopelessness when faced with unlimited love.  It's the slow decline and self-destruction of one man into drunkness and addiction and the consequences in those that love him. It's phantasmagorical and beautiful at the same time and remains one of the most influential novels of the century.  Tracklist: Mr. Airplane Man - Sun sinkin' low Kai Martin & Stick! - Jeriko The Magnetic Fields - Desert Island Eyeless in Gaza - Others The Revolving Paint Dream - Flowers in the sky Romeo Void - Charred remains Great Plains - It's dying New Model Army - Purity The Primitives - Thru the flowers Trio Monte Alban- Oaxaca Guitarras oaxaqueñas - Oaxaca The Lilac Time - It'll end in tears (I won't cry) Br...
